An easy sweet and dense white bread with a lovely crust
Ingredients
2.5 Cups All purpose flour
1 Cup Water
5 tablespoons Sugar
0.75 teaspoon Instant dry yeast
1 teaspoon Salt
1/8 Cup Vegetable oil
Steps
- Bring the water to lukewarm temperature and stir in the sugar
- Add the yeast and let it proof. You will see the yeast looking like its lightly creamy. Expected time: 10 mins
- Now add in the oil and salt.
- Add one cup of flour at a time and knead till the dough is not sticky anymore
- Shape into a ball and lightly brush with oil
- Leave in a bowl to rest, covered with aluminium foil. Make sure that the vessel has enough space for dough to double
- Let it rise for 1.5 hours
- Punch down the risen dough once and shape into a loaf. Place in a lightly greased pan of 8.5″*4″. Let the dough rise for another 40 mins. (Generally rises upto 1.5 inch)
- Bake in oven at 350 degree farenheit for 35 minutes
- Your loaf is ready !
