This is the basic cake recipe that you could use if you are stuck without an oven but do have a pressure cooker at home
Ingredients
100 Grams Maida
125 Grams Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Melted cooking butter or flavorless vegetable oil
1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
1 Teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
Steps
- Prepare a cake pan by greasing, lining and dusting and set ready ( I use a 7 inch diameter one for the round pans)
- Separate the egg yolks and whites
- Beat the white till it stands in stiff peaks and set aside
- Cream the yolks, vanilla essence and sugar together till the quantity is doubled and the mixture is fluffy
- Add the butter and milk to this and beat to incorporate.
- Add the baking powder and maida and combine
- Fold in the egg whites till fully combined
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Set this into a dry pressure cooker on top of a small stand so that the base of the pan is not in contact with the base of the pressure cooker. Close without the whistle
- Bake on high flame for first 2 min, medium for next 5 min and on low for around 25-30 min. Cake is done When a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean
