Fried Bread Balls

What do you do when you have leftover bread? I made bread upma for breakfast..
And then, there was leftover vegetable bread upma.. So I added enough moisture to be able to roll them into balls and dunked them in beaten egg and fried them.. Voila Delicious Fried bread balls with veggies..
Instead of egg, you could mix a bit of cornflour with water and make a thin coating for the ball too

Ingredients

1 Egg
1 Onion
1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
To Taste Salt
To Taste Mustard Seeds
1 Cup Mixed Vegetables sliced and diced
7 Bread Slice
1 Tablespoon Oil
1 Teaspoon water
Oil for frying

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds
  2. Add onions and coriander powder and saute
  3. Add the mixed veg and salt and saute till cooked
  4. Once done, turn off the heat, crumble the bread and add and mix. Your Bread upma is done
  5. TO the upma, add the water and mix. Make into small balls of one and half inch diameter.
  6. Heat the oil for frying
  7. Beat the egg. Dip each ball into this and coat completely
  8. Fry the coated balls till Golden brown
  9. Fried Bread upma balls are ready
