A semi gravy dish prepared with fresh squid

1/2 kg Squid
2 numbers Onions
3 numbers Tomato
1 teaspoon Turmeric
2 tablespoons chillipowder
1 tablespoon Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Ginger paste
to taste Mustard seed
to taste Curry leaves
to taste Salt


  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil and add the mustard and curry leaves to crackle
  2. Add the Chilli powder and turmeric powder
  3. Now add the tomatoes (chopped long thin) and fry till they are slightly browned and becomes the consistency of a paste
  4. Add the ginger and garlic paste and let them blend in.
  5. Now add salt and the onions (sliced long thin). Sautee till the onions are soft and the color changes.
  6. Cook this for 10 minutes by continuously stirring
  7. Now add the cleaned chopped squid and cook for 7 minutes.
